Lake Chalet Seafood Bar & Grill is one of Oakland's premier restaurants located on beautiful Lake Merritt and offers indoor and outdoor dining over the water. Lake Chalet is located in a gorgeously renovated 100 year old building and boasts 10,000 square feet of indoor dining and 2,500 square feet of outdoor dining on our dock. We serve a diverse menu of contemporary Californian cuisine with a focus on seafood that's full of new takes on old favorites and a great raw bar. Several dining areas make up our restaurant and offer something for everyone, including private dining and event space for weddings and large meetings. Our 80 foot long bar overlooks the lake and provides a great place to meet friends, enjoy great people-watching and drinks from our full bar featuring Beach Chalet Ales and handcrafted cocktails. The Dock has weekly specials (Taco Tuesday) and serves afternoon drinks daily.

Great atmosphere with seating right on the dock. I had the grilled fish tacos and was very satisfied. The Arnold Palmer was made with fresh squeezed lemonade and very fresh.

The place is amazing, the views at sunset must be stunning from here, it's just some little details would totally make this place an amazing dinner experience, one example is we were 3 sitting at our table and it was set for four people, the fourth placing ( plate fork and napkin ) were not removed until the food actually started to come out.....no big deal but a clear indicator that there is room for improvement in such simple details that make the experience complete, you have the place the rest is easier to accomplish.

The food is always good here. The brussel sprouts are everything. I've never had a bad time here. The ambiance, the servers, the food, the people, it's always a great time. I'll continue to come here at least once a month ðŸ˜

You can make reservations. Don't know about E-40 though

You should call as soon as possible

I ordered Salmon plate and corn fritters. Both the plate were really good. We got 2 big fillets of salmon for $24 which I have never seen at any other restaurant.
